Volunteers Needed for Wooden Boat Show

The annual HSC Wooden Boat Show and Open House will be held this year on Saturday, August 9th. We need volunteers to help run it, please.

The volunteers are needed to help set up (erect shade tents, decorate the club (balloons), layout the kids boatbuilding tables and supplies, layout the BBQ tables and supplies), then during the day show guests around the clubhouse and grounds, communicate the club's various activities, help with the kids boatbuilding, help with the free hotdog stall, and finally put everything away again (very important). Scheduling is from about 9 am to close about 4 in the afternoon depending on weather.

The show is NOT just about wooden boats. This is our annual open house opportunity to have some fun showcasing all of the activities we have at the club. It  would be great to have more participation from all of our members, so welcome all sailors, kayakers, foilers, rowers, paddlers, SUP'ers, and swimmers. Come and show the public what a great club we are.

We need to get as many as possible of the club's sailboats, rowboats, kayaks, paddle boats and other activities out on display. The schedule is flexible but we will likely have the kids boat building (really just assembling and painting) in the late morning followed by free hotdogs at lunchtime, after which our regular ukulele band will be beating out old favorites. All of the activities will be located down in the yard this year, weather permitting. This is to improve our exposure to people visiting Harmony Arts and others passing by, so let's hope for great weather.
