Think Hollyburn Kayak Challenge Race Series
Hollyburn Sailing Club, in conjunction with Think Kayak, presented the inaugural Think Hollyburn Kayak Challenge race series in 2010. This was a series of biweekly Thursday evening races along the West Vancouver shoreline.
Two distances were offered - a 6km and 10km, both being out-and back. There were a variety of race formats, but the courses were the same for each event.
The races started at 7pm, with registration opening at 6pm. The registration fee was $5 per race.
Note that strong westerly winds are common in the afternoon in summer, which can lead to dangerous sea conditions. All participants are expected to consider the conditions in relation to their kayaking ability, and not take part if their skill is not appropriate for the water conditions.
Particpants need to provide their own kayaks and associated safety equipment. PFD's must be worn.
There is limited parking outside the Hollyburn Sailing Club grounds, with two larger parking lots located to the east of the club.
